Controlled medications

Please note that controlled medications such as ADHD medications and pain medications cannot be filled at your first visit. Your new provider will need to evaluate your condition and review your medical history.

In order to get a prescription refill of a controlled substance for a chronic condition we are required to provide:

  • An appropriate evaluation,
  • A contract to identify safety and responsibilities,
  • Random urine or serum drug screenings, and
  • A consistent approach to medication refills.

Controlled medications cannot be refilled after hours.

If you need a refill of a medication, please contact your pharmacy directly and they will contact your provider. We make every effort to refill your medication the same day it is called in however it can take 2-3 business days for a refill. Please call the office during normal business hours for refill questions or concerns.
